Eco Friendly Gifts
Perfect eco friendly gifts for friends, family and as a present to yourself. We believe you should know exactly what you're putting on your skin, which is why we ensure complete traceability and control over what goes in to our products by sourcing ingredients only from the British countryside.
You won't find any parabens, sulphates, harsh chemicals, petroleum-derived materials, synthetic preservatives or aromas in our products but you will find a low carbon footprint and bee friendly farming practices. More below…
Commitment to a low carbon footprint
We have challenged ourselves by only using British grown botanicals, oils and beeswax. Ingredients such as shea butter, almond oil and coconut oil travel 1000's of miles to get to the UK, and we are just not prepared to contribute to our worrying climate crisis! Using ingredients from our beautiful British countryside means we can keep our carbon footprint to a minimum.
Commitment to the bees
We need bees to survive, it's that simple. The dwindling bee population is of huge concern to us and that's why we have researched our British suppliers carefully. We only source ingredients from growers that are committed to bee-friendly farming practices, for example organic, reduced pesticide use, biodiverse and sustainable farming. In addition we source our beeswax from a local beekeeper; the forefront of helping to protect our bee population.
Commitment to zero plastic
All the Hedgewild products are hand packaged in glass jars with aluminium lids which can easily be recycled or reused (they make great spice jars!). Our postal packaging is 100% recycled cardboard and we work with suppliers to reduce plastic in their packaging too.
We give back
We have chosen to support the CPRE (campaign to protect rural England) The Countryside Charity, by donating 5% of our profits to them each month. This organisation is close to our heart, they are ‘passionate about making the countryside a better place for everyone to live, work and enjoy’. They spearhead campaigns and do ‘boots on the ground’ work from planting hedgerows to counting insects.
Commitment to anything else
It goes without saying that our products are cruelty free; we prefer to test on friends and family than get any rabbits involved!
By using only British ingredients we support our amazing British farmers and champion the novel crops they grow, right here on our doorstep.
We use renewable energy to make the Hedgewild products in our artisan lab.
